He comes to the school from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he was the Hugh B. Brown Presidential Endowed Chair in Law. He graduated from Columbia University School of Law, where he was executive director of the Columbia Law Review and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

Johnson is the author or co-author of eight books and portfolios and more than 50 legal publications, book chapters, book reviews and more. In an effort to get to know him better, we asked Johnson for 10 things we don’t already know about him. Here are his responses:

  1. I was born in the last month of my father’s third year of law school.
  2. I spent two years as a missionary in Ecuador.
  3. My wife and I just celebrated our 31stwedding anniversary, have three children and three grandchildren.
  4. I spent a week in Harrisburg when I was 12 years old, my last visit since interviewing with Widener Law Commonwealth.
  5. I have spoken on capital markets in more than 15 different countries including Brunei, Latvia, Sweden, Colombia, Australia and Saudi Arabia.
  6. I look at the Wall Street Journal before I get up in the morning.
  7. I spend a half hour in the evening reading or studying Spanish.
  8. I could live on calamari, sushi and brownies.
  9. I have taught Federal Income Tax more than 30 times.
  10. I am a huge fan of Bob Newhart, the Beatles and Roger Federer.

Welcome, Dean Johnson.
