November 6, 2020
Dear students,
After careful consideration, we have decided that the spring 2021 semester will be remote like the fall 2020 semester. Unfortunately, the increasing number of Covid-19 cases throughout the state and country do not allow us to have a return to campus this coming spring semester.
The Civil Law Clinic will continue to operate with a reduced on-campus schedule in the spring. Likewise, externship placements will continue in-person unless the supervising attorney at your site directs you otherwise. Additionally, the library will remain open for your use as it has been during this semester.
Presently, all school-sponsored extracurricular activities will remain remote for the spring semester but we will reevaluate as the spring semester progresses. We are hoping to have commencement exercises in May and will be assessing options during the spring semester.
I expect many of you will find this decision disappointing but please know that it is made with the health of our Widener Law Commonwealth community as the primary consideration.
Please feel free to reach out to Dean Teplitz with your questions or concerns.
Best regards,
Dean Hussey
