While feedback is important to our development as legal writers, receiving and giving criticism in the workplace can be challenging. This presentation will provide tips on how to use feedback to become a better writer.  It will also suggest how best to evaluate someone's writing when you are the editor.

The Lawyer as Poet Advocate: Bruce Springsteen and the American Lawyer
Presented by Randy Lee, Professor of Law

This program combines the great tradition of the American lawyer as poet advocate with the work of one of the most celebrated poet advocates of our time, Bruce Springsteen. Like the poet, the American lawyer is called to discern what is real and what matters, certainly for his client, but also in his own life and work.

Twenty years have passed since the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act and the federal E-Sign act were passed to recognize the validity of electronic signatures. In that time, electronic contracts have moved from a text-based web format to phone-based apps. This presentation will cover some of the recent cases that have addressed this evolution.
