Certificate Programs

Our three certificate programs explore how government works and the roles lawyers play in making and implementing laws:

ADMINISTRATIVE LAW/CONSTITUTIONAL LAW CERTIFICATE

Focuses on the balance of power between government branches and the laws that govern administrative agencies. You’ll have the chance to see government in action while gaining a greater understanding of how society functions.

LEGISLATION & PUBLIC POLICY CERTIFICATE

Sheds greater light on the legislative process, including the drafting and interpretation of statutes, and opens the door to externship opportunities with the Pennsylvania Legislature and other lawmaking entities.

GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING CERTIFICATE

Focuses on the process of negotiating, drafting, and implementing contracts for goods and services, including information technology, on behalf of public entities.

Gain Targeted Hands-On Experience

Through internships and externships with the Governor’s Office of General Counsel and the Pennsylvania Legislature, you will shape your legal career. In the process, you will help draft legislation, provide legal advice to the Governor and Legislature, and see the legal process from both sides.
