Professor Capowski has written, taught and presented in the areas of administrative law, evidence, civil procedure, lawyering skills, public benefits, public interest law, and fly fishing. The university awarded him emeritus status at the law school at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year.
Before coming to Widener, he directed Cornell’s clinical program and taught at the University of Maryland. He has been a visiting faculty member at New Mexico, West Virginia, and Denver.
Professor Capowski and his students worked with the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence in helping to enact two Pennsylvania laws dealing with domestic violence. He also served on the American Bar Association's Project on Educating to End Domestic Violence: Law School Programs as Resources Against Domestic Violence.
Professor Capowski continues to write and teach in his areas of interest. Since accepting emeritus status, he has presented at a number of conferences and now serves as the Chair of the Evidence Section of the Association of American Law Schools.
