Appellate Advocacy Honor Society

The Widener Law Commonwealth Appellate Advocacy Honor Society offers practical preparation for professional life as an attorney. Appellate Advocacy allows its members to further develop their oral argument and writing skills learned in the classroom and use those skills to represent a client in a realistic appeal from a trial court. Appellate Advocacy members participate in a number of national competitions with students from other law schools while working closely with professors and alumni to improve advocacy skills.

If interested in participating, eligible students are encouraged to try out early in the fall semester by submitting a written brief followed by a presentation of oral arguments before the society’s executive board. The board offers membership to those students who display a high level of ability and motivation.
