Information Technology Services (Client eXperience)

The ITS Client eXperience (CX) team provides computing, information, and network services to the university campus community. View a complete list of their services on the ITS services catalog webpage for Widener students.

Self-Service Password Management allows you to look-up your login/password information or change your password 24/7.

Wireless access is currently available in all student areas of the Library Building, Side Bar, and the Administration Building.

Instructions for accessing the WU-SECURE wireless network can be found by signing into your myWidener portal and searching for “wireless.” If you need any assistance, please come to the ITS Office located on the second floor of the Library Building.

ITS support is provided by the CX team during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday (hours subject to change) and by appointment.

The Help Desk is located in the Library Building on the 2nd floor in the "Pit" area

Discounts on software and hardware 

Widener University offers Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus at no cost. The complete package includes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, Access, and Teams. Your license allows it to be installed on up to five devices. Instructions for downloading Microsoft Office 365 for your home computer can be found by visiting the ITS services catalog and entering “Office 365: Office Download Instructions” in the search box.

Available to students and employees of Widener University:

  • Apple - Apple Computers, Inc and peripherals
  • Dell - Dell Computers and peripherals
  • JourneyEd - software - Microsoft, Adobe products and more.
  • CDW-G - computers, printers, cameras etc...
  • Ribbons - printer supplies (contact CX for login information)

Additional technology that you may use on campus:

  • Print solution – The Harrisburg campus uses Pharos for printing in all public areas. If you have problems using the print solution, please contact Brian Fearnbaugh [email protected] or 717.541.1979.
  • Westlaw and Lexis – If you have questions about or need account information for Westlaw or Lexis Advance, please contact the Reference Librarians in the Law Library.
  • ExamSoft – ExamSoft is administered by the Registrar’s Office. If you have questions about ExamSoft, please contact the Registrar’s Office which is located in the Administration Building. Please refer to the minimum system requirements for important details.
