The Law and Government Institute is dedicated to the study of government law. The Institute helps students explore how government works and the roles that lawyers play in making and implementing law. For example, lawyers write legislation, represent clients before state agencies, and provide legal advice to the governor. At Widener Law Commonwealth, students may earn a certificate in Law and Government that provides hands-on experience in government law.
The Law and Government Institute also hosts a wide variety of public programs that explore and debate issues at the top of the legislative agenda and that bring together government leaders.
