Public Library Patrons
Members of the public are welcome to use the law library Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Use is restricted to the law library on the main floor, for legal research purposes only. The library does not provide research services to the public. Upon arrival, call Campus Safety at 717.541.1911 and present a valid photo ID. You must sign the library visitor log.
Alumni, Bench, and Bar Library Patrons
Alumni and members of the bench and bar are welcome to use the law library Monday – Saturday from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Use of the law library is for legal research purposes and is not intended for meetings, including client meetings, of any kind. The library generally does not provide research services to alumni and members of the bench and bar. Upon arrival, please call Campus Safety at 717.541.1911 and present a valid photo ID and bar membership card. You must sign the library visitor log.
Guests, Speakers, and Other Visitors
The law school, its student body, and its faculty regularly have guests, speakers, and other visitors to campus for a variety of educational purposes. Upon arrival, call Campus Safety at 717.541.1911 and present a valid photo ID. Your host will have submitted your name to Campus Safety for inclusion in our daily campus visitor Log.
Visitors to the Administration Building are welcome each day until 5:00 p.m. After 5:00 p.m., access is limited to Widener Law Commonwealth students, faculty, and staff unless prior arrangements have been made. Please note that access will vary during final exam periods and to accommodate outside groups who have reserved event space.

Widener Law Commonwealth ID cards for current students, faculty and staff are used as print cards and used for building access during certain times. All ID photos are taken by Brian Fearnbaugh, 717.541.3963, in Media Services. Once ID cards are ready for pick up, they are available at the Campus Safety desk on the first floor of the Law Library Building.
You will have an opportunity to get your ID card picture taken during orientation week. Your photo will be taken by Media Services on the second floor of the Widener Law Commonwealth Library.
Students who need replacement ID cards can go to the Registrar’s Office to pay for the replacement. The Registrar’s Office will provide a receipt for you to give Media Services. Any student who is unable to have a photo taken during hours of operation can set up an appointment by calling the ID Card Office at 717.541.3963.
*There is a $25.00 fee for ID cards that need to be replaced.
Students should see their program representative, who will coordinate with Media Services for a time to have their ID card photos taken.
