Widener Law announces lineup for Environmental Law Distinguished Speaker Series
Widener Law and its Environmental Law Center will host a Distinguished Speaker Series with public events at both of its locations.
The lineup includes:
- Wednesday, Feb. 18, 4 p.m. – Villanova University School of Law Professor Todd S. Aagaard on “Rethinking the Energy-Environment Divide,” room A180 of the administration building at Widener Law Commonwealth, 3737 Vartan Way. This will be teleconferenced to the Alfred Avins Special Collection Library Room at Widener Law Delaware.
- Monday, March 16, noon. – Joshua Gellers, LEED green associate and assistant professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of North Florida on “Environmental Rights, Environmental Justice, and Democracy,” in the Alfred Avins Special Collection Library Room at Widener Law Delaware, 4601 Concord Pike, Wilmington. This will be teleconferenced to room 101 in the library building at Widener Law Commonwealth.
- Tuesday, April 14, noon. – Louis J. Kotze, professor of law at North-West University in South Africa on “The Reconciliatory Role of Sustainable Development in Transformative Environmental Constitutionalism: The South African Example,” in the Alfred Avins Special Collection Library Room at Widener Law Delaware, 4601 Concord Pike, Wilmington. This will be teleconferenced to room 101 in the library building at Widener Law Commonwealth.
- Thursday, April 16, 4 p.m. – Linda Malone, the Marshall-Wythe Foundation professor of law and the founding director of the Human Security Law Center at the College of William and Mary School of Law on “The History and Potential Future of Ecofeminism,” room A180 of the administration building at Widener Law Commonwealth, 3737 Vartan Way. This will be teleconferenced to the Alfred Avins Special Collection Library Room at Widener Law Delaware.
Attorneys from Delaware and Pennsylvania who attend the in-person lectures with Aagaard and Malone on the Harrisburg campus will be eligible for one continuing legal education credit. All of the events are free and open to the public.
