Sarah Everhart to join faculty at Widener Law Commonwealth
Widener Law Commonwealth has announced Sarah Everhart will be joining the law school faculty as an assistant professor of law and director of the Environmental Law and Sustainability Center, effective July 1, 2023.
Everhart is an expert in environmental law and studies the legal frameworks in which the agricultural sector operates, and how government regulation of food production impacts farm resilience, natural resources, sustainability, and social welfare. She earned her juris doctor at Pace University School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree in environmental studies from Washington College. After several years of working in civil litigation for three law firms, she entered academia in 2014 at the University of Maryland Francis K. Carey School of Law, where she taught in its environmental law program, served as the faculty advisor of the food law society, and was managing director for the law school’s agriculture law education initiative.
“I'm excited to be a part of the exceptional and dedicated faculty at Widener Law Commonwealth, and that of course includes the Environmental Law and Sustainability Center, renowned for its work in exploring how the law can work to develop and implement environmental laws and policies,” Everhart said. “The law school's strategic location to the state capital is notably appealing, and I am looking forward to working with students in expanding and engaging their legal knowledge in the environmental realm.”
