Widener Law Commonwealth names Elizabeth Wenger 2025–26 Reybitz Business Advising Program Fellow

Widener University Commonwealth Law School has awarded the 2025–26 Reybitz Business Advising Program Fellowship to third-year student Elizabeth Wenger.

The fellowship was established through a gift from Ronald Reybitz, a 1996 graduate of the law school who serves as special counsel to Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba and previously as associate general counsel for PPL, a Fortune 500 utility company. The fellow receives a $1,250 stipend each semester and works closely with Reybitz through mentoring and experiential opportunities in business advising. Fellows also assist with programming for the law school’s Business Advising Program.

Wenger’s journey to law school has been anything but conventional. A graduate of Georgetown University, she was drafted into the National Women’s Soccer League and went on to play professionally in Switzerland before returning to the United States to begin a career in marketing and later real estate. Those experiences, she said, shaped the skills she now brings to her legal training.

“I honed the skill of cutting through what a client or property owner was saying to get to what she might really be asking,” Wenger said in her fellowship statement. “This skill is and has been pivotal to providing clients with good, applicable advice and guidance.”

At Widener Law Commonwealth, Wenger has pursued a focus on transactional practice with interests in real estate, estate planning, and long-term care planning. She spent the past two summers as a law clerk at Gibbel Kraybill & Hess in Lancaster, drafting real property agreements, wills, and trust documents.

As she prepares for her final year, Wenger said she is eager to build her professional network while learning from Reybitz, whose career spans real estate, zoning, corporate law, and regulatory work.

“Having the opportunity to be mentored by Mr. Reybitz in this last year of my law schooling, especially with his career experience, has the potential to be a foundational part of my future career,” she said.

Professor Christian Johnson, who directs the Business Advising Program, said Wenger exemplifies the fellowship’s goals.

“Elizabeth brings a strong background in business and real estate that will serve her well in practice,” Johnson said. “Her determination and diverse experiences make her an excellent fit for the Reybitz Fellowship, and we’re excited to see how she contributes to the growth of the program.”

The Reybitz Fellowship is awarded annually to an upper-division student pursuing the Business Advising Certificate.
