Candidates who have thoroughly considered their law school options and are certain that Widener Law Commonwealth is their first choice may apply through the binding Early Decision Program (EDP).
EDP candidates are provided two benefits for applying through the program. First, an admissions decision will be rendered no later than February 15. Second, EDP candidates will be considered for full-tuition scholarships.
Candidates must opt into the program on their application and apply by January 1 to be considered. Candidates offered admission under EDP will be required to withdraw all other pending law school applications and pay a non-refundable seat deposit.
The binding EDP is not the best option for all candidates and only those who are certain that Widener Law Commonwealth is their first choice for legal education should apply through this program.
Candidates who have a strong interest in attending Widener Law Commonwealth and apply before February 1 will be considered for our Early Action Program (EAP).
EAP candidates are provided two benefits by applying early. First, an admissions decision will be rendered no later than March 1. Second, candidates will have the advantage of applying early in the admissions cycle before the class becomes full and admission to the JD program becomes more competitive.
EAP is non-binding and accepted candidates will have until mid-April to accept an offer of admission and make their seat deposit. To be considered for EAP a candidate simply has to apply before February 1.
Candidates who apply before May 1 will be considered priority admission candidates. These candidates will have their application fee automatically waived and be considered for merit scholarships upon acceptance. Priority admissions is non-binding and to be considered a candidate simply has to apply before May 1.
