Widener Law Commonwealth faculty and staff ring in the holidays

We all know that familiar sound of the bell ringing can only mean one thing. The holidays are here. And members of our faculty and staff made sure to spread holiday cheer as they raised money for local families ringing the bell for The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region.

This year our bell ringers raised $1,335.09 in The Salvation Army kettle. The funds raised roughly translate into 534 hot breakfasts for people or a new set of school clothes for 66 kids. All of the funds raised will stay local to help families of the mid-state.

Ten members of the law school’s faculty and staff helped to raise the funds that can be applied to numerous programs provided by The Salvation Army, which include food subsistence, educational programs for children, toys at Christmas and services for the elderly. Last year the organization helped more than 22,236 people.

Professor Christopher Robinette has served on the advisory board of The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region for more than 10 years, including two years as the chair.

Bell Ringers from our faculty and staff for the 2015 season are: Pat Fox, Karen Durkin, Mike Dimino, Tiffany Depaoli, Sandy Graeff, Juliet Moringiello, Anna Hemingway, Palmer Lockard, Amanda Smith, and Chris Robinette.
